Margaret Wright is a Phoenix-based photographer who is largely self-taught, with formal instruction in photography at the Kansas City Art Institute, Scottsdale Community College and workshops with various noted photographers. She is a founding member of Imageworks,
a large format fine art photography group in the Phoenix area, and has exhibited in Phoenix, Tucson, Scottsdale and Wickenburg AZ and Santa Fe NM. Although she still works often with a 4”x5” film camera, much of her recent work is digital from start to finish and she has embraced the use of digital tools to take her representational photographs to another, more abstract, level of artistry. This is most evident in the “Not Found in Nature” portfolio and the newer "Fractal Composites" and "The View Beyond". Other portfolios show her interest in old buildings, travel and abstract design.
